Exploring the World with Niyo: A 3-Month, 5-Country Journey
Used Niyo card in 5 different countries (Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia & Malaysia). Sharing a detailed review of the product
The app is really slow
When you try to do a UPI payment, a couple of times the recharge fails. Also when the recharge fails, the money is nowhere - which is really a bad user experience. Once you do the recharge, you still need to go to increase the limit - which is one more additional step
Works 95% of time
It does work at most places but there are times it does not work. I don't have any specific reason why it happens but I think when it failed when the machine which they used was old but my One Card worked at 100% of places where Niyo failed
Knowing how many free international transactions remaining
This should be really added to the app. I asked the support how many free transactions are remaining, they said the first 3 transactions are free, they can't tell how many have occurred on the card or there is no way to figure out
Coins
There are couple of improvements needed here
We don't get an idea about the number of coins earned on each transaction. You may go to the history section but that data is not instant. Also it's not possible for user to map transaction and history - for the data of coins earned
We don't know about coins remaining from the ATM withdrawal you do in a different country. Also 3 months is a long time to give someone the rewards for the transaction they do.
No personalisation
I have used app extensively but there are no custom offers tailor made for my experience
Good things about the app
Love the support:
Most of the apps or products we use have inhuman support. You also call the customer on a different number when the travel internationally
Free Withdrawal
I really love this feature where you give coins for the withdrawal fees.
Expedite support
They detect if you’re new country and resolve the query faster
Really great forex rate
The rates are one of the best, whatever you convert on google search, that’s the rate you get
